Guides from the counter

Written by people who identify this stuff daily. How to choose a hose, why one failed, what the markings mean and which fitting you actually need.

Why These Exist

The questions we answer most

The short versionEvery guide here started as a question somebody asked at the counter. Enough people asked it that writing it down made sense.

Nobody at Moreland set out to run a blog. These pages exist because the same handful of questions come up week after week, and a written answer is more use to somebody at eleven at night than a phone number that opens at half seven.

What that means practically is that none of them are product pitches. If the honest answer is that you do not need the expensive option, that is what the guide says. If the failure you are describing usually turns out to be something cheaper and simpler, it says that too.

They are also written for people holding the part. Specifications, markings, failure symptoms and the actual decisions involved, rather than a general overview of what a hose is.

If a guide does not settle it, the counter will. Bring the failed assembly to Hempstead or Oakdale and somebody will identify it in about a minute.

Both counters open six days a week. Most assemblies are built and tested while you wait.
