Hydraulic Fittings & Adapters

Hydraulic fittings and adapters, sold one at a time

Tens of thousands of fittings on the wall across both Long Island shops. Crimp ends, field attachable ends, elbows, tees, bulkheads, swivels and the adapters that make two incompatible ports talk to each other. No boxes of ten, no minimum order, and no waiting.

The Wall

The part people notice first

The short versionBuying hose is easy. Finding the one adapter that finishes the job is why people drive here.

Anybody can sell you hose. What stops a job is almost never the hose, it is the end that has to go on it, and specifically the one odd end that nobody local carries.

That is what the wall exists for. Tens of thousands of individual fittings sit here across every common standard, in straight, elbow and tee configurations, in carbon steel, stainless and brass, and in the sizes that match the hose on the racks behind them. When the hose and the ends come out of the same building, the crimp specification between them is already known rather than looked up and hoped over.

Everything is sold singly. If one 90 degree swivel elbow is the difference between a machine working this afternoon and sitting until Thursday, that is a normal purchase here and not a minimum order conversation.

If you are not sure which standard you are looking at, do not guess. Bring the old end in and we will identify it, or read through the thread reference on custom hose assembly, which covers how to tell JIC from SAE 45 and BSP from NPT before anything gets turned by hand.

Fitting Families

Six kinds of thing on that wall

Thread standards are one axis. This is the other one: what the fitting physically is and what it does in the assembly.

Permanent

Crimp hose ends

The fitting and ferrule that get pressed onto the hose on our machines. The standard end for a built assembly, and the strongest of the options. Once crimped it is part of the hose for good.

Removable

Field attachable ends

Assembled with tools rather than a crimper, so they come off and go back on. Useful for shops working away from a counter and for obsolete assemblies where the original end has to be reused.

Direction

Elbows and bends

Forty five and ninety degree ends that let the hose leave the port at the angle the routing needs. The proper answer to a tight bend, and considerably cheaper than the hose that fails from being forced into one.

Translation

Adapters

Male to female, one standard to another, imperial to metric. The pieces that make a pump from one manufacturer connect to a valve from another without redesigning the circuit around it.

Movement

Swivels

Let the assembly rotate instead of twisting. A hose installed with a twist in it loses a serious share of its life, so a swivel at the working end is one of the cheapest reliability improvements available.

Distribution

Tees, crosses and bulkheads

Run tees and branch tees for splitting a circuit, crosses for four way junctions, and bulkhead fittings for passing a line cleanly through a panel or a tank wall with a seal on both sides.

What We Buy

Brands on the wall

Aeroquip by Danfoss hydraulic fittings stocked at Moreland Hose

Manufacturers we stand behind

Aeroquip by Danfoss, Adaptall, Tompkins and Alfagomma among others. We buy from manufacturers whose product holds up under pressure, because a fitting that weeps comes back to this counter and not to theirs.

Matching hose and fittings from known manufacturers also means the published crimp specification between them exists. Mixed brands with no specification between them is guesswork, and it is covered on hydraulic hose crimping.

Materials for the environment

Carbon steel for general hydraulic work, stainless where corrosion is the enemy rather than pressure, and brass where the application calls for it. On a boat or anything near salt, stainless ends cost a few dollars more and outlast the alternative by years.

Quick disconnect couplings sit on their own page at hydraulic quick disconnects, and the hose they go on at hydraulic hoses.

Before You Buy

Common questions

Yes. Everything on the wall is sold individually. There is no minimum order and no boxed quantity, which is the whole point of a counter. Plenty of visits here are one adapter long.

Find The One

Bring the end that does not fit

Thirty seconds at the counter beats an afternoon of guessing. Walk in with the fitting, or send a photo with something for scale and we will tell you what it is.
